9/28/2009 Bill Reddish from WICO radio interviews Debbie Campbell about the upcoming Council Agenda which included a discussion about Pac 14 moving towards a 501(c) 3 nonprofit status. Bill Reddish articulated some concern that Pac 14 may be doomed to obsolescence before it is paid for and Debbie voiced concerns about duplication of services. Also scheduled for the Council Agenda will be new guidelines for the historic district and an emergency resolution for Homes for America to make a grant application to the state for pre-development funds for the building that is known as the "Bricks" in the Church Street neighborhood. Debbie encourages those who are interested in coming to the meeting to be sure and sign-up to speak about items of interest.
September 21, 2009 Bill Reddish from WICO radio interviews Debbie Campbell and Mark McIver, both members of the Mayor's Crime Task Force, about crime in Salisbury and particularly the 2008 Uniform Crime Report which places Salisbury in the top 10 for cities experiencing Part I crimes (which include violent and property crimes for cities with poplulations between 25k-50k). Both Debbie Campbell and Mark McIver discuss the reasons they believe that crime is rising in Salisbury.
